Drew Lile has performed on guitar, banjo and mandolin with the NC Symphony, NC Theatre, NC Jazz Repertory Orchestra, numerous National Broadway Touring companies, and visiting artists including Luciano Pavarotti, The Pointer Sisters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Patti Page, Clark Terry, and many others. He has also performed with numerous local groups in a wide variety of styles as well as performing with the band “House Arrest”, which featured his original compositions. He also appeared in the CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame movie”The Summer of Ben Tyler”, starring James Woods and Elizabeth McGovern.
Drew attended East Carolina University as a French Horn player and began teaching guitar lessons there. In the triangle area, he taught guitar, banjo, mandolin and electric bass at Oxbow Music and Pearson Music before spending 12 years as Director of the Upper School music program at Carolina Friends School, where he experienced the satisfaction of helping talented students find their own musical path. He currently teaches Jazz Guitar at Duke University.
