Sarah’s love story with music began at age 7, when her mom first enrolled her in piano lessons in Charlotte, NC (her hometown!) Sarah grew up playing piano for her church, where she became enamored with gospel and jazz. She graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Music and B.A. in Psychology. Throughout grade school and college, she has been involved in wind, orchestral, and improvisational ensembles. At Duke, she served as the Assistant Music Director for Hoof ‘n’ Horn’s Dreamgirls and was selected as one of three undergraduate research fellows for Black Music Lab. Sarah is most fascinated by the exploratory aspects of music, like songwriting, production, and musical arrangement. She is passionate about using the power of music creatively and therapeutically to spark positive change in children and adults.
In her free time, Sarah likes learning languages, geeking out over NPR Tiny Desk Performances, and writing/producing her own music!
Sarah teaches all levels of piano.
