Music has always been a part and passion of Melissa‘s life and believes there is music in everything if you stop to listen. She began dancing and singing when she was three and began studying the violin when she was in elementary school. She had the privilege to perform at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City in high school and in college as part of their orchestra and chorus. She attended USDAN summer camp for the Arts every summer for most of her student life and worked there as a counselor after high School. After graduating from Ithaca College in New York she taught at the Trumansburg Conservatory in Trumansburg, NY and Hickeys Music in Ithaca, NY. Since then has toured the country from coast to coast with Faire, a renaissance festival performance organization. She recently settled in Durham with her daughter to make the Triangle their home. She believes music has no borders and speaks every language and loves being able to share this experience with students of all ages. She teaches violin, fiddle, viola and voice.
