Mary Kaydon Thompson is an autism professional by day and a voice and piano teacher by night at Notasium. Mary has been involved in music performance since she was in elementary school, participating in choirs, talent shows, and piano lessons. While Mary was finishing her degree at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Mary was the music director and composer for the UNCW theatre production “Show Lady Slipper” and recently stepped back into the theatre scene again this past year playing Cassie in “Rumors!” at Sampson Community Theatre.
Mary also has direct experience teaching and working with children on the autism spectrum of all ages and settings (in-home, school, and clinic) while being on the spectrum herself, and currently works with high school students on the autism spectrum to help prepare them for life after graduation. Mary hopes that this will encourage more children and families who are impacted by autism spectrum disorders to try private music lessons if they have expressed any interest in music.
Mary teaches piano, ukulele and voice.
